Mrs. Alisa Wendorph
PEAKS Teacher
Mrs. Wendorph earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of North Florida, in Literature and Communications, and worked in writing, editing, and public relations until her first child was born. She followed her children when they began school, and worked as a part-time resource teacher for six years before moving from Ormond Beach to Sanford. Mrs. Wendorph earned her teaching certificate and gifted endorsement and used these to teach sixth- and seventh-grade gifted ELA at Sanford Middle School. During her 11-year tenure at SMS, she helped pilot two STEM programs, taught and managed the yearbook class and production, served on the PTSA, and sponsored the Odyssey of the Mind teams.
Mrs. Wendorph loves being part of the Galileo family, where discovery, and loving and supporting each other, are the norm. She believes every child is lovable, and enjoys sharing her passion for reading, writing, speaking, and listening. When not at Galileo, Mrs. Wendorph loves to travel and canoe/camp with her husband, and of course, she’s never without a book.
